The home crowd had a good time watching the Beaumont Crossbeaus and Plattsburgh Puffer Fish get after it.

Plattsburgh pitcher George Hill had a large part in his team beating the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 8-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hill, who is tied for 3rd in the PA- in strikeouts with 85, went the distance for Plattsburgh. He gave up 3 runs on 9 hits.

Mark Thornber, who is tied for 4th in the PA- in stolen bases with 7, took Beaumont hurler Gabriel Pérez deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Puffer Fish on top, 2-1. In all, Thornber had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

Plattsburgh manager Mike Carlisle commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
