Oliver Ortega had a good game, but he could not keep the Philadelphia Liberty from falling, 12-11, to the Montana Pandas at Panda Park. The Philadelphia right fielder went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 in the loss. The winner was Joey Greco in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dick Hill took the loss. The Pandas now have a record of 14-15 with the win over Philadelphia.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old third baseman Rafael Cruz had a chance to be the hero. Philadelphia pitcher Dick Hill had other ideas. But with no outs, Cruz hit a sacrifice fly. The Pandas had themselves a dramatic win.

"Now that's my kind of ending," said a smiling Cruz.
