Hounds Lose Late to Rhinos
|
The Redwood Rhinos picked up a win at Hound Pound, taking down the Hicksville Hounds, 2-0. Starting pitcher Michael Swanson was a big reason why. The winner was Alexander Cobbledick in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Gabriel Delgado took the loss. The Hounds, now 22-42, have lost 4 straight.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Freddie Washington? The 21-year old left fielder Washington stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Redwood up, 1-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Runs were at a premium," said Redwood manager Joe Goff.
