Beaumont second baseman Allen Wright had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to Hudsonville at Hudsonville Park. Wright was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Hudsonville took a 7-4 lead on Claudio Vargas's 17th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Vargas hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Beaumont pitcher José Morales visibly frustrated.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Vargas told the Hudsonville Daily.
