The Crowley Cajuns faced a tough opponent in Philadelphia pitcher Pedro Mejía, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Liberty by a final score of 7-5 in 11 innings. Mejía went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belonged to Jason Carroll in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Francisco Ramos took the loss for Philadelphia. Crowley is now 32-32.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Al Gross came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Francisco Ramos, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Crowley on top, 6-5.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Cajuns manager Bill Wallace.
