Starting pitcher Ernesto Arroyo was a major factor in the 5-2 Hicksville Hounds triumph over the Redwood Rhinos. The Hounds raised their record to 23-42.

Gene Ladd had a big 2-run home run for the Hounds in the bottom of the first inning. With Hicksville trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Clint Ellis, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- in wins with 9, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Hounds on top, 2-1.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Arroyo said.
