Hounds Slip Past Centennial, 4-2

The Hicksville Hounds and Fort Knox Centennial played an exciting game.
Fort Knox got a big-time effort from pitcher Ánibal Machado, but it wasn't enough to keep the Hicksville Hounds from winning the game, 4-2. Machado threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Ryuichi Agano, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings.
Hicksville used the timely hitting of Shinji Kokawa to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hounds on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Kokawa said. "And the same is true when you lose."
Hicksville's record now stands at 28-46, placing them last in the Premier Low A.
