Grey Wolves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Flamingos, 3-2
|
Vancouver designated hitter Jeff Moultrie made his presence felt in the 3-2 Grey Wolves triumph over the Las Vegas Flamingos. Moultrie went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Brad Carter claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 1-1. The Grey Wolves improved their record to 15-21 by beating Las Vegas.
Moultrie had a timely hit for Vancouver in the bottom of the eighth. With Vancouver trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 3-2, Vancouver.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Vancouver manager David Krause. "It's usually not just one thing."
