Wolf Den in Vancouver was the site of a tense game between the Vancouver Grey Wolves and Ft. Worth Cattlemen.
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen earned a close win over the Vancouver Grey Wolves, thanks in part to Qu-bing Li. The Ft. Worth left-hander, who is tied for 5th in the SL with a 2.05 ERA, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. The Cattlemen are now 23-20.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Atticus Sappington? The former first round draft pick Sappington stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Ft. Worth up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cattlemen manager Scott Thompson, "I like our chances."
