Vancouver Loses Again, 3-1
|
In a tight tilt between the Panama City Piranhas and the Vancouver Grey Wolves, John Moore was the deciding factor. The Panama City right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Moore got the win, improving to 5-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Raymond Thomas recorded the save, his 4th.
The Piranhas got an important contribution from third baseman Mark Harris, who in the top of the sixth punched a 1-0 cutter to right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Piranhas ahead, 3-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Panama City manager Brian Talamante said.
The slumping Grey Wolves have dropped 6 in a row.
