Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Philadelphia Liberty and Baltimore Bullets.
Philadelphia pitcher Bobby Johnson did his part in helping his team defeat the Baltimore Bullets, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. José Hernández earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.
Javier Rivera had a big run-scoring double for the Liberty in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Larry Wallace, who is tied for 7th in the SL with a 1.10 WHIP, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Liberty ahead, 2-0.
"Bobby did a good job mixing and matching," said Philadelphia manager Geoff Matt.
Today's win puts Philadelphia at 30-19, while Baltimore falls to 21-28.
