Kingfishers Beat Blue Demons, 5-1
|
Nick Snyder, who finished 5th in the SL in strikeouts with 176 in 2054, was terrific for the Pittsburgh Kingfishers in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Mexico City Blue Demons. His performance earned Snyder rave reviews. Snyder picked up the win for Pittsburgh, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Eugene Ingram earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Kelsey Tate had a big hit for Pittsburgh in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0, Tate hit a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Kingfishers up, 4-0.
"Nick executed his pitches at a high level," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson.
The Kingfishers improved to 26-25.
