The MSL Philadelphia Liberty satisfied the home crowd at MSL Liberty Ballpark, treating them to a season-opening win, 5-4, over the MSL Boston Patriots in 11 innings. Starting Pitcher Michael Leonard was the standout performer for MSL Philadelphia.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 11th, an error by the Patriots allowed the Liberty to score the winning run.

MSL Philadelphia manager Armando Ortíz commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
