The MSL Boston Patriots rode a solid performance from 18-year-old starting pitcher Bob Baird to a win, beating the MSL Philadelphia Liberty, 4-0, at MSL Liberty Ballpark. Orlando Polanco earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. Picking up his 1st save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Bang Liu.

In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, Baird came to the plate. He drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Manuel Rosado to put the Patriots in the lead, 1-0.

"Bob is good at sticking to his strengths," said MSL Boston manager Arvi Fufachev.
