Rainbow Mermaids Get 5-4 Win Versus MSL Hollywood
|
MSL Northern Virginia beat MSL Hollywood at MSL Hollywood Ballpark, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Bryan Bly. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Mitch Brooks got the win, improving to 3-3. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Ray Berard nailed down his 7th save.
MSL Northern Virginia grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Bly hit a 3-run home run off Ashley Kearney. His 3rd home run of the season put the Rainbow Mermaids out in front, 5-3.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Bly said.
MSL Northern Virginia goes to 13-8, MSL Hollywood to 10-11.
