Rainbow Mermaids Win at Home, 2-0
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the MSL Toronto Thunder, 2-0, in USPL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. MSL Northern Virginia pitcher Andreas Andersen had a standout performance. Andersen picked up the win for MSL Northern Virginia, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1. The Rainbow Mermaids have an impressive 14-8 record.

The Rainbow Mermaids got a big at-bat from left fielder Ted Hijar. For the game, Hijar went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave MSL Northern Virginia a 1-0 lead.
