Rainbow Mermaids Rally to Win, 9-8
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the MSL New Orleans Voodoo, 9-8, at MSL New Orleans Ballpark. MSL Northern Virginia third baseman Leonardo Vázquez led the way. He was 4-6 with 3 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sean Littrell earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-2. The Rainbow Mermaids are now 15-8, while the Voodoo fall to 15-8.

The most important at-bat for MSL Northern Virginia came in the top of the 12th inning, when second baseman Diego Báez stroked a 0-2 fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting MSL Northern Virginia up, 9-8.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Donald White, the MSL Northern Virginia manager.
