Thunder Collect 8-4 Win Over Shredders
|
The MSL Toronto Thunder racked up a win at MSL Hollywood Ballpark, bumping off the MSL Hollywood Shredders, 8-4, in 11 innings. Nicolaas van Hees, who started for MSL Toronto, pitched effectively for his team. The 6th-place Thunder now sit at 13-13.
MSL Toronto used the timely hitting of Carlos Burgos to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Thunder on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said van Hees.
