Mockingbirds Top Patriots, 6-4

The MSL Memphis Mockingbirds defeated the MSL Boston Patriots, 6-4, in 10 innings in USPL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Memphis Ballpark. MSL Memphis pitcher Andrés Pérez had a standout performance. MSL Memphis reliever José Mojica picked up the win, raising his record to 4-2. Domingo Soto was tagged with the loss. MSL Memphis is in last place in the PL MSL with a record of 13-22.
MSL Memphis got a game-changing hit from Tim Miles. The pinch hitter blasted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Pérez. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
