Billy Goats Beat Voodoo, 2-1
|
The MSL Colorado Billy Goats earned a close win over the MSL New Orleans Voodoo, thanks in part to Carlos González. The MSL Colorado right-hander, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2062 draft, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. González picked up the win for MSL Colorado, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. Earning his 13th save of the year was Ding-bong Ren.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Billy Goats had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when designated hitter Hyun-hi Kwon hit a solo home run. The home run came off Dylan van Pelt and made the score 2-1, Billy Goats. Kwon was 1-3 with a home run and a walk.
Kwon said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The 7th-place Voodoo have lost 4 consecutive games.
