Pandas Pick Up 2-1 Win Over Echo Park
|
The Echo Park Lakers wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Barry Davis, falling, 2-1, to the Montana Pandas at LA Forum. Getting the save was Martin Luther, his 6th. Montana, at 29-28, sits in 6th place in the Silver League.
Montana used a well-timed hit by Basilio Penni to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Pandas ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Penni called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
