Echo Park and Las Vegas duked it out and the Lakers came out victorious.

The Echo Park Lakers converted a terrific effort from starter Bobby Monroe into a win over the Las Vegas Flamingos at LA Forum. The Lakers won the game by a final score of 5-2. Monroe got the win, improving to 8-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Francisco Aguilar closed the door for Echo Park, picking up his 6th save of the year.

Echo Park took a 5-1 lead on Roy Bell's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Bell hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Las Vegas pitcher Bill Marshall visibly frustrated.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Echo Park skipper Jordan Calhoun.

The Lakers improved their record to 32-26 with the win over Las Vegas.
