Rainbow Mermaids Win by Slim Margin, 2-1
|
Carlos González, who is tied for 2nd in the PMSL with a 0.95 WHIP, played a key role in a gritty 2-1 MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids win against the MSL Seattle Rocketeers. MSL Northern Virginia reliever Pedro Rocha picked up the win, raising his record to 1-4. José Vega was tagged with the loss. MSL Northern Virginia has now won 3 in a row.
The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the ninth when Rubén Rivera hit a solo home run off 17-year old left-handed pitcher José Vega to win the game for MSL Northern Virginia. The home crowd went wild.
"This place was electric at the end," Rivera said.
