Thunder Pull Off Thrilling 4-2 Win in Extras
|
MSL Toronto Thunder starter Carlos López was on his game, helping his team beat the MSL Boston Patriots, 4-2. Hirokichi Kato, now 3-3, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The 4th-place Thunder have won 5 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Kasper Rook? The 17-year old shortstop Rook stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put MSL Toronto up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said López.
