Lakers Drop Kingfishers, 4-2

The Echo Park Lakers and Pittsburgh Kingfishers played an exciting game.
The Lakers grabbed a win, 4-2, at Pittsburgh Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Pittsburgh pitcher Ray Mitrou. Mitrou went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Echo Park reliever Barry Davis picked up the win to move to 4-2. Richard Miller suffered the loss. Francisco Aguilar closed the game out for Echo Park, earning his 8th save.
In the top of the third inning, first baseman Étienne Duchesne had a 2-run double for Echo Park. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Lakers on top, 3-2.
Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
The Lakers saw their record improve to 35-27.
