Flamingos Get Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos topped the Memphis Mockingbirds, 4-3, in United States Silver League action at The Strip. The game was highlighted by the performance of Las Vegas pitcher Júlio Mora. In 8 innings, Mora surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. The Flamingos sit in 6th place in the Silver League with a record of 31-32.
Al Anderson drove in one run for Las Vegas. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Anderson had a clutch at-bat. Facing Memphis hurler Marvin Velásquez, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Flamingos a 4-3 lead.
