Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old third baseman Manuel Méndez, the Las Vegas Flamingos stopped the Long Island Lighthouse, 8-2. Gilberto Malfeito, the winning pitcher, is now 5-2. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 1. With the win, the Flamingos are 21-43.

In the top of the fourth inning of a 1-1 tie, Las Vegas second baseman Amador Licopit reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Las Vegas on top, 2-1.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Méndez.
