Pandas Get Clutch Win Versus Baltimore
|
Baltimore pitcher Larry Wallace gave the Pandas all they could handle, but in the end, Montana left Baltimore Grounds with a win, 2-1. Wallace allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 7 innings. The save was credited to Martin Luther, his 8th. Montana is 7th in the Silver League with a record of 33-34.
Montana took a 2-1 lead on Ernesto Vázquez's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Vázquez hit in the top of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Jorge Cabral visibly frustrated.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Vázquez said.
