Lighthouse Upend Bullets, 6-1
|
Long Island and Baltimore got after it at Baltimore Grounds.
Ken Harding brought his A-game to help Long Island defeat the Baltimore Bullets, 6-1. Harding got the win, improving to 11-4. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 8.1 innings. He allowed 1 run.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Joe Patrick? The 23-year old second baseman Patrick stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put Long Island up, 5-1. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"It's a mindset," said Harding. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
Long Island improves to 44-29 with the win. They lead their division by 2½ games.
