Philadelphia Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
Ft. Worth Cattlemen pitcher Qu-bing Li was in fine form, leading his team past the Philadelphia Liberty, 4-0. John Allen recorded the save for Ft. Worth, his 19th of the season. Ft. Worth is now 39-35.
Tied up with the Liberty in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cattlemen got a boost from catcher Juan Sánchez. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Sánchez saw a 1-1 sinker from Al Ivey and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Ft. Worth on top, 1-0.
Sánchez told a Ft. Worth Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
