Long Island first baseman Jesús Serrano was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Baltimore beat the Lighthouse, 6-5, in 10 innings. The 9th-place Bullets hiked their record to 30-45.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Baltimore. That's when Dave Cooper hit a solo home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Larry Alexander to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"The crowd was juiced," said Cooper.
