Blanchard Rips 3 Homers Against Nobles Sunday, June 24th , 2063 His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Chris Blanchard swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at Timber Hawks Ballpark, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Bakersfield Nobles were better. The Monongahela Monsters couldn't capitalize on the big game from Blanchard and dropped the contest, 7-6. The mood in the Monsters clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Nobles to spoil the day for Blanchard. "Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Monongahela manager Andrés Pérez said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level." In addition to the homers, Blanchard collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Monongahela center fielder told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3." Chris Blanchard grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Aaron Daniels in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Aaron Daniels in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Morgan Cartier in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
