Injury Sidelines Carlos Romero For Year Monday, July 17th , 2062 The doctors have spoken and Carlos Romero of the Jersey City Tritons didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Romero sustained his season-ending injury during the Pennsauken Flyers game yesterday at Pennsauken Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Jersey City medical staff reported Romero had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months. This season, he has made 15 relief appearances with no saves. In 27.2 innings Romero has chalked up 13 strikeouts while posting a 0-1 record and a 4.23 ERA |
