Sherman Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, July 18th , 2062 The number just keeps getting higher. Kansas first baseman Paul Sherman has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 3 at-bats as the Kansas won the game, 8-1, over the Bakersfield Nobles at Wichita Field. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Paul Sherman singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. In 44 games this season, Sherman has compiled a .320 batting average with 57 hits and 1 home run. He has also scored 17 times and knocked in 14 runs. |
